July 15, 2026 — StructLabs.io has published Run It on AI, a seven-chapter guide in three acts by founder Benjamin Foong on deciding what work to automate, what to augment, and what to protect from automation entirely. It’s available now at runitonai.com in three formats: a PDF, a gated web reader, and an agent-readable Markdown edition.
The core test
The book’s central argument, laid out in its first chapter, is a single test applied to any task: does its value reset every time it’s done, or does it compound? Resetting work, like status emails, file moves, and reports nobody reads, should be automated aggressively. Reinforcing work, like sales calls, knowledge bases, and the client-context document, should be augmented by AI but never handed over completely, because removing the person breaks the compounding. Reframing work, meaning judgment, naming, and direction, should be protected from automation entirely.
“Most operators try to automate everything the same way, and it breaks the parts of the business that were supposed to compound,” said Benjamin Foong, Founder of StructLabs.io. “The question I ask before anything else is whether a task resets to zero every time or builds on itself. That’s the whole first chapter, and everything after it depends on getting that distinction right.”
The companion
Run It on AI ships with a companion: an open-source MCP server (github.com/StructLabs-io/runitonai-mcp) that connects the book directly to the AI tools a reader already uses. In Claude, it connects through a custom connector that works on the free plan; in ChatGPT, through a published custom GPT called the Run It on AI Companion. Because chapters and exercises are served live over that connection, readers always have the current edition without buying it again.
Full access is gated by license key. The companion asks for one credential, the key on a buyer’s Gumroad receipt, and nothing else: no email address, no account. As far as StructLabs.io has found, no other book pairs this level of access with this little personal data collected by the companion.
Who it’s for
StructLabs.io positions the book for founders and operators of small companies who already use AI daily and want that work to stop being fragile. It isn’t aimed at anyone looking for a hands-off or fully automated system. The company is direct about what the book is not meant to be: a prompt pack, a machine-learning or data-science text, a passive read, or a guarantee of any financial outcome.
